1900 | Gustav Wagner founds the firm in Kirchenhain as a whole-sale trade business in the drug- and paint-branch. |
1907 | Move to the home-town Biedenkopf. Own production begins. Wood-stains, French Polishes and varnish based polishes are the first produce. |
1914 | With the First World War and the conscription of the company's founder the business? development comes to a standstill. |
1924 | Not until the end of the inflation can the manufacture of paints and varnishes be taken up again to a larger extent. The name "Wagner" is known even beyond the border of the "Reich". |
1925 | The office- and whole-sale trade departments are moved into a newly acquired building across from the Biedenkopf station. |
1930 | Adolf Wagner übernimm der ältester Sohn des Firmengränders 27-jährig die Fabrikation in der Lindenstaße. Mehrere Jahrzehnte wird er das Unternehmen erfolgreich leiten und nachhaltig prägen. |
1934-39 | Heat-resistant varnishes and fireproof putty lead to an increase in turnover. |
1939-45 | The production can only be maintained poorly and finally comes to a standstill when the company's founder is conscripted. |
1948 | The whole range is taken up again. A new successful period is established by large investments into production plants and warehouses as well as expert staff. The production-range includes highly resistant varnish. |
1960 | A modern laboratory and new offices arise. |
1966 | Painter Gustav Adolph Wagner (oldest son of Adolph Wagner) joins the firm. |
1967 | A special department for synthetic based plasterwork-mass arises. The Adolph Wagner GmbH is the first producer of solvent based natural stone plaster (Wabierol synthetic washing plaster) and is the market-leader with this product in Germany. |
1970 | Wabiepon synthetic coating is highly acknowledged as a colourful, highly-resistant coating for machines and large-capacity vehicles, especially for tankers. |
1970-80 | The enlargement of the company in these years is owed to the production of dispersion- and mineral plaster. |
1974/75 | Business school graduate Friedrich Wilhelm Wagner and qualified engineer Hans-Georg Wagner begin their work in the firm. |
1980 | The expansion of the product-range in the area of composite heat insulation systems leads to an enormous increase of turnover. New silo works with plaster mixers are erected. |
1990 | The construction of a new production building is necessary to cover the growing demands of the customer. A tank installation for the manufacture of dispersion- and silicate plasters is put up. |
1995 | Foundation of a marketing-organisation for highly resistant varnishes. |
1996 | production-organisation WAGCHEM in Poland is founded after the opening of the market-place in East Europe. |
2000 | In the last decades the firm can credit itself with an above-average growth. |
